Taser X26 in possession of NZ police officers


Just a few things that you could keep in mind with Police officers and taser guns.


* Taser guns are not routinely carried by the police officers.



* "When considering the use of a taser, the police officer must have an honest belief that the subject, by age, size, apparent, physical ability, threats made, or a combination of these, is capable of carrying out the threat posed. In this circumstance, Police may only use the taser to:"



- Defend themselves and others if the culprit is under threat of hurting others and all possibilites of keeping the public as well as themselves safe has been carried out, then the tasers will be a less forceful way.



- Arrest an offender if they disobey and pose a threat to the public physically and the arrest cannot be made less forcefully,



- To resolve an incident that the police officers at the point can see that the offender will physically hurt themselves and it cannot be resolved or prevented in a less forceful way.



- Attack wild animals with.
