There have been some disapprovals about the American made tasers being introduced in New Zealand. Here's why...

There have been recordings with the use of taser guns in America recently and there has been some accidental deaths occuring upon use of taser guns. There has been at least 150 deaths caused by the American police.

February 2006, there was a police press release about the tasers being introduced to five major police districts including Auckland and Wellington and spokesperson for the CATT group Marie Dyhrberg made some investigations on the taser and found that that the taser operates just like a normal gun... "looks like a gun, fires a projectile (barbed darts), like a gun, it fells people lik a gun and (overseas experience shows) can actually kill people jus like a gun".
